My copy of _Sugar, a Little Snow Fairy_ volume 1 has 3 video glitches, so I'm going to return it; should I also return the limited edition collectable postcard, or keep it just in case the replacement DVD doesn't include one?

Given the troubles some people have in getting Pioneer's enclosed ltd.ed. extras (why they don't just make more of them and just bloody sell them to whoever wants them, I'll never know; never mind the collectorscum), even in cases where it's been pre-ordered, keep it.

What problems did you encounter? My copy seemed to come out without a hitch.

The video image breaks into randomly colored blocks for a frame at the explosion scene in part 3b, and twice in episode 4, one of which is accompanied by a sound dropout.

That is nasty and checking at www.animeondvd.com, it sounds like it's not to uncommon for Sugar #1. Were you able to exchange for a perfectly sound

I exchanged it, and the replacement that just arrived has the same problem. I'm not finding any mention of this problem at animeondvd; where should I be looking?

How many DVD players have you tried it on? My Samsung M-305 (I think that's its number) started doing that on some of my recent DVDs (always at the same points), whereas those problems don't occur when played on my XBox nor on my computer. It could just be a matter of getting a DVD head cleaner.
