Just got to see Jin Roh yesterday and was very impressed but I was left with one question on the ending (which I think is meant to be ambiguous but I would be interested in other people's thoughts).

Did Fuse actually shoot Kei at the end or was it the point man? I assume that they kept the point man there just in case Fuse did have an attack of humanity (and to possibly shoot him as well if that happened) but who fired the shot?

Given his constant visions of him leading Kei to being devoured by the wolves, Fuse seemed continualy troubled by his actions, even if he's accepted the outcome as inevetable. Especially telling to me was part where they're sitting on together somewhere, just before the final confrontation I belive, and he starts saynig something like 'What if we...' and then stops himself. Just for a moment, the 'wolf' becomes fully 'human', allows himself to consider an alternate courese of action to the will of the pack.
There's smoke coming out of Fuse's gun.

I saw the subtitle, and it appeared that Fuse shot her. Somebody else saw the dub in the theater and thought the other guy shot her

Fuse fired the shot. There is no ambiguity there. The point man's weapon had not been fired as they clearly show that his hammer had not dropped. He not intended to in any way shoot Fuse (who is pretty much impervious to small arms anyway) he is his support. He is shown in at least one other point to be 'backing up' Fuse in the film.

Given that Hiroyuki Okiura personally aproved the dub script, I'd chalk that one up to individual perception, wouldn't you?

I believe (don't have the DVD to confirm) that smoke is visible from Fuse's gun, whereas we see the other man uncocking his own gun.

Fuse would be vulnerable to a head shot at that point as he doesn't have his helmet on.

Fuse fired the shot. If he hadn't he would have no place in the Wolf Brigade and he's not equipped to live anywhere else. The point man was back-up but he wasn't needed.

As others have already said, Fuse fired the shot. The smoke was visible from the barrel of the gun in his hand. The other guy with the gun was the backup and I thought Fuse was well aware of this (refer back to what he said during re-training about how they must covering each others' blind spots).
