Air Master (NEW series)

Think of a fighting game where the main character is an 8' tall (OK, maybe not that tall, but she does stand head-and-shoulders above the rest of the people in a crowd) red-headed, tomboyish Amazon of a teenage girl.

Haven't fully watched the first ep yet, just a casual fast-forward through the d/l. Decent character designs (looks to have a bit of fanservice, as the lead has several girl pals and fights in a mini-skirted school uniform). Gritty, rundown city locales. Will have to watch to see if there's any depth or story to it, or if it's just a run-of-the-mill 'fight of the week' series.

Actually if you checked out the official site........http://www.vap.co.jp/airmaster/ you will find there are few people from various well known series among the staff.......like the diretor(Dragon Ball Z) and the character design guy(Berserk&Street Fighter Zero). Considering it's airing at 1am or so...........probably will have some serious action.

And some serious showering to offset the serious action. *nods nods*

The official 'Air Master' website (www.vap.co.jp/airmaster) gives Maki Aikawa's height as 184cm, just a jot over 6 feet. Still unusually tall for a Japanese girl, especially one who's Maki's age (16).

Then again, they used the same studio did Omajamajo Doremi........that doesn't sound too right....hehe. I wonder why they even bother bother

Decent character designs? DECENT CHARACTER DESIGNS??

Blech! I found almost all of them to be positively not only unappealing, but in some cases downright repugnant (the little monkey-looking girl.) The main character and the feisty one of her friends look like guys, which isn't a bad thing per se but the whole time I was watching the first episode I wanted to tug on their hair and shout 'It's a MAN, baby! A MAN!!' One of her other friends has a bigger chest diameter than she is tall. Not one character in the first episode made me think that they had a lick of brain in their head and made me want to watch any further.

Then again, people getting their faces kicked in until their nose collapses in on itself in a fountain of blood isn't really my thing. Maybe I'll just stick to the more shoujo-ish fare this season >_>;

What about a hardcore Episcopalian nut? There still seem to be plenty of those around who don't quite feel like waking up to the 21st century.

But then, you can find extremists in just about ANY religion, maybe because they don't actually follow its teachings, but distort them to fit their own agendas... agendas of hate!
