I realize that pretty much all of animation around the world uses computers now adays for coloring characters or for Mechas. Truthfully, I miss the old fashioned Cel and paint way, because I loved when there was close ups of the characters, I could see the imperfections in the ink lines. I want to be an animator my self some day, so I have a question. Is possible to use cels just to outline the characters in ink but use the computer to scan the cel image and just use the computer to fill in the color of the characters? I was just

I'm sure there is, especially since quite a few webcomics use a similar method (hand-draw picture, scan, fill in with computer program).

Yeah. But when they're scanned in the editors usually asjust contrast and such to remove imperfections. Even if the whole thing is inked or painted by hand.

Pretty much every animation made today, especially North American ones. Disney still has the outliners and inbetweeners using onion skin and a light board. Then the frames are scanned in, the lines cleaned up and the cel coloured.
