An idle thought came to mind - other than in 'Cowboy Bebop' and 'Big O', can anyone think of anime in which characters ( either the main characters or background characters ) are shooting pool? I seem to think that there ought to be some scenes in 'GTO', but I can't remember any off hand. And of the 'pool hall' scenes, can anyone remember any snooker tables, rather than pool tables?

Slightly off topic, but there was a ~15 volume manga about 9 ball exclusively maybe 10 years ago. I don't think it was popular enough to be animated, though.

Pool: Project A-ko 3, Princess Nine episode 4, Bubblegum Crisis OAV 6 (I think; might have been OAV 5).
Snooker: can't think of any, off the top of my head...

One of the Starship Girl Yamamoto Yohko OAV episodes features a game of pool as one of its central plot points.
Granted, the game involves asteroids painted to look like billiard balls, but it's the same thing. ^^

That's appropriate in a sports anime. Is the character supposed to be a 'tough'? ( I only saw a couple of episodes several years ago and don't remember the characters or their names. )

I'd suspect that any recent manga that went 15 volumes would be animated nowadays. Hmmm - nine ball, eh? What was that song from the 'Music Man'?
