The heading says it all. Best animated TV series I've seen during that time(early 1980's).

Yes, one of the best giant robot shows of the mid-80's. I've recently ordered several episodes from Amazon.com, used of course.

I actually dressed as Mighty Orbots for Halloween one year.

Weird to hear the voice of Donatello as the young scientist in charge of the Orbots, isn't it?

I remember it! I've been wondering what the title was for a long time... Saw a few eps, and could only remember the professor guy, ohno, and what the rest of the robots looked like and how they acted. Couldn't remember any of the names though, aside from ohno.

Look in the credits for all the voice actors. I believe you will find some of the Tenchi group there: Ayeka and Sasami.

The Mighty Orbots had one of my favorite lines in it.

Announcer: Not even Mighty Orbots can escape from Devil's Asteriod! (SMASH!) Oh well, I guess I was wrong.

Too bad I hardly remembered that one. Had to rent a tape to eventually see for myself!

We need lines like this again!

Apart from Mighty Orbots being produced by TMS, MGM did offer an anime program that was seen in some markets, based on the novel, 'The Yearling'. This never got released on home video, yet I managed to track down an episode on 16mm. Kinda of an interesting show, though I'm not much into literary anime myself.
