Excel Saga = Freakazoid?

Besides some of the obvious style choices, here are a few similarities:

- Scene of Excel's grissly assasination of Koshi Rikdo, and Little Ropamatsu's rape of Excel are covered up by 'happy scenes' (peaceful meadow, kitten playing with yarn); an entire episode of Freakazoid has violent scenes covered by 'happy scenes'

- The helicopers in the B-War Movie episode are being held up by wires; Inbisibo's staff is held up by an all-too-visible wire.

- Koshi Rikdo and Nabeshin make repeated cameos in ES; Steven Spielberg makes repeated cameos on Freakazoid

Well, there's also Excel's 'genki' level nearing that of Freakazoid; dang, I thought I'd get more!

Oh well, just thought it was worth mentioning . . .

Ah, so _that's_ where I picked up the phrase. I do have a habit of making up random (and generally nonexistant) words, but that particular one always sounded too familiar to be a term I pulled out of thin air.

I don't particularly remember having watched that much Freakazoid, but I'm sure I must have passed it a few times while channel surfing...

I thought about Nuku Nuku after I posted the original message. I've never seen any of the OVAs, but she did seem like the type. I'll add her and her parody version, Ropponmatsu 2 from Excel Saga, both to the list. Don't know much about Dark Schneider. Is he a wild and crazy guy, too?

Any other suggestions? I'm still short of male characters and female shoujo characters.

Wait there is a parody version of Nuku Nuku in Excel Saga and I am just now hearing about this. *SHAKES FIST* And what does this not seen any of the OAV's mean. Does not compute. And yes DS is a very much a wild and crazy guy.

Ah, from Azamanga Daioh. Yet another character from an anime not yet released in the US. Did the description just scream her name at you? ^^

BTW, is she an entertainer type, like Excel, or a realist type, like Faye Valentine? And is this a shounen or shoujo anime? I'm not familiar with either the character or the series.

I've never watched any Nuku Nuku. (Ducks to get out of the way of Ethan's shaking fist).

However, since the 'Entertainers' on that list were based on my daughter's list of 'crazy girls' in the anime she's watched, I'll use the addition of Nuku Nuku to it as a recommendation to her to watch it with me the next time she visits.
