I was wondering if anyone knew of some good sites with a large variety of anime/manga images from different authors/styles (or sites with lists of links). I'm interested in the different drawing styles and characters of different authors, fan art immitations as well.

I seem to find a lot of sites with either very few images, or are mostly just from one series.

Also if anyone knows of any collections of character profiles (like what animation artists use to draw the characters) for any of the popular anime characters.

How old are these images? Many have dates way back on the 199x.

What happened to the main http://the.animearchive.org/ site?

There doesn't seem to be a www.csusm.edu anymore.

Laters. =)

Oh well. Though that doesn't necessarily make them invalid. It just depends on what you want, of course.

Dunno. Seems OK though.

Perhaps you just got unlucky. I'm looking at it right now...

No, I was just asking how long ago those archives started. Kinda reminds me of the old Venice FTP.
http://the.animearchive.org/ seems to forward me to http://community.animearchive.org/ with the Error Message 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket....'

Huh, weird. Got thru on IE, but Netscape gives me 'A network error occurred while Netscape was receiving data.'

Laters. =)

Seems odd. Perhaps the domain name is a redirect in its own right, though that doesn't explain the error message. It sounds almost like something was trying to access...

That makes no sense unless either you have something out of whack on your Netscape install or Netscape itself has a bug. I'm using Oregano 1.10js, which is hardly an up to date browser these days, though it is faking itself as IE5 so, unless both sites or someone else downstream is deliberately trying to stop you, it sounds like you should be checking your settings.
