According to Anime Tourist (http://anime-tourist.com/article.php?sid=337) Cartoon Network has secured the rights to the anime series Naruto. Who the actual licensing company is not mentioned.

There are only 10 episodes so far. It is a bit early to imagine it will air soon.

Didn't Fox get Digimon _really_ early into it? I know in later eps, the original Japanese was often only about 10 episodes farther along.

But, IIRC, that's a time when Pokemon was megabig, and Fox tried to catch some of the fad, so they had to react quick.

*nod* Then of course Digimon built up its own fad, tho was saved a bit from having honestly good storylines to go with its mechandising. A lot of recent Mon anime has been, relatively, much cheesier...

Not to be a pessimist, since nearly any popular anime gets mechandized out the wazzo, but I've noticed a big run of dubs _obviously_ done with sole intention of marketability despite its other story tones being cheesy or unmarketable in the states.
