Hey, everybody!

I came across a reference to Japanese Sakuda cards.

Heke?

What are they? Can anyone point me to a link?

Hey, Dan!

I'm not sure. I only ran across the phrase. What are hanafuda cards?

You could probably say the same thing about making friends with Korean people. ^_^

Hello,

could you possibly let us[tinu] know where you heard this phrase?

Perhaps, and I say this politely as I can, you misheard it?

Or maybe it is a refernce to, eg, a series of cards one of which is about a person Sakuda? (Like those baffling baseball cards?)

As you can tell, I'm just guessing.

To be fair, it's extremely easy for us non-Japanese folks to confuse 'Sakuda' and 'Sakura', especially if we're tired or rushed. (The first time I read the subject line, I thought the poster was asking about Sakura Cards...)

Hey, Demetrius Zeluff!

It was in an arts and crafts store. The material was in the close-out bin, and I didn't pounce fast enough. I've looked at some of the hanafuda cards, and I think they were similar. I'm still trying to run down some kind of image, though.

Hmmm as far as I know it is pronounced ha-na-fuu-dah. I can't think of any other way to say. I am lucky that Japanese people have a really easy time understanding me and compliment me on it.
