Well, it'll be two half-hour episodes between 4 and 5 PM, no commercials, though the Gerter Robo, Gigantor, Lowbrow, and other shorts will be there. Anyway, from the CN site:

Monday Nadesico - Episode #1 Evangelion - Episode #1

Tuesday Nadesico - Epsiode #6 Evangelion - Episode #2

Wednesday Nadesico - Episode #25 Robotech - Boobytrap (Back, after nearly 4 years!)

Thursday Dai-Guard - Episode #1 Robotech - Dark Finale

Friday Dai-Guard - Episode #2 Robotech - Symphony of Light

- Vaughner

While there is no solid information I am aware of, you'll notice that these are all ADV titles. Speculation is that ADV is using this opportunity to get some widespread exposure for their titles and their new Anime Network. While anime is turning up on a lot of channels the one with the greatest household penetration is Cartoon Network.

BTW... The episodes will be shown uncut according to ADV and there will be no commercial interruptions. This should be interesting given the content of Eva episode #2.

I would guess that this is a Whitman's Sampler of ADV anime specifically of the Giant Mecha genre. ADV anime hasn't gotten a whole lot of exposure on TV outside of the premium channels. Given how well Bandai has benefitted from its relationship with CN it's the best place for ADV to push its products.

Sheesh, no need to jump down my throat. Thanks to the people who politely pointed out that the shows are not going to be edited. I had assumed that because the shows would be airing on television, they would be edited for television. Apparently that's not the case; I made a mistake, sorry.

I've never seen Evangelion, but as previously noted I have the series on DVD and plan to watch it relatively soon. But yeah, showing the start and end of series is kind of bypasses the fun of seeing the whole story. From what I've heard about how confusing Evangelion is, I can't imagine what would happen to people who only saw the very beginning and very end.

Ah. That could explain that choice then.

That's true. I just thought they'd show the first couple episodes of each series.

Yes, that sounds like a pretty good reason to show those couple of episodes.

Hmm. I guess if you've seen the series that makes sense. Well, I'll see it myself before long. Hmm, well, I guess I can watch the Evangelion shows now or later and it won't make much difference. I can see the whole thing on DVD whenever I feel like it, so I can decide later. I'll have them on tape for a few days before I tape over them anyway.

Who knows, probably just lose it mentally!

Right now, EVA is playing on CN, and I have a lot of things to say about it and the whole Giant Robo week that CN has dumped upon us! I'll be posting that in a bit.

Never did see most of the series myself, so I'm a little intersted in seeing what Macek had in mind for having to create an episode 85.

I only wish they wouldn't do what they seem to be doing right now (more on that later).

Pretty much have saw it a few years back form subtitled tapes, so I never saw the dubbed before, so this is a little shocking to hear the dubbed voices for the first time.

I wish I had the DVDs, but I'd might like to wait a while and see about the R2 release that is said to have live-action footage also added.
