I picked up a copy of Shonen Jump Saturday evening. It wasn't what I expected, but overall I enjoyed it, although I am not quite accostomed to reading right-to-left yet. It seems that not all eight manga will not be featured in every issue: there weren't any chapters of Naruto or Shaman King this month.

Interview with Akira Toriyama (6 pages): Toriyama-sensei fields such difficult questions as 'Do you like professional wrestling?' (No) and 'What hobbies do you have?' (Model-building, among others).

Ask Akira Toriyama (2 pages): Readers write in with questions such as 'Is Goku a black belt?' and 'Is Puar male or female?'

Yu-Gi-Oh (1 chapter, 48 pages): 4Kids must have REALLY watered down the anime, becuase, Yami Yugi is downright demonic! I am looking foward to seeing a variety of interesting Shadow Games before the Duel Monsters stuff starts.

Dragonball Z (3 chapters, 41 pages): I was afraid that DBZ was going to dominate the magazine; fortunately it didn't. Just kinda skimmed it since I've already seen the coresponding part of the anime.

SandLand (1 chapter, 30 pages): The demon prince Beelzebub and a human man named Rao are looking for a lake in the desert in order to break a greedy kings monopoly on water. Beelzebub's father looks suspiciously like DBZ's Dabura. Viz had better know what it's doing with this one, becuase it could really blow up in their faces.

YuYu Hakusho (1 chapter, 44 pages)

One Piece is the best anime/ manga to come out in years. I have watched the first 133 episodes and read the first 20 volumes of the manga - I say, as a fan of anime and manga since 1987, that Echiro Oda's One Piece is one of the best anime/ manga of all time!

Well pro-wrestling in Japan is actually more mainstream and popular than in the US, plus they actually wrestle and make it look good. Some of the moves will have you saying *bleep* how is he getting up after that.

Even females in Japan are into pro-wrestling. Watasse Yuu, the author of the very very very shoujo Fushigi Yuugi has Miaka do pro-wrestling moves of a famous female pro-wrestler and I think Rumiko Takahashi is also into watching female pro-wrestling. I suspect that pro-wrestling in Japan is probably different from in the US...

Yep and they are badass too. I am pretty hardcore into Japanese pro-wrestling. The top female star is Mayami Toyota.

Yup. Puro is just as 'worked' as Good ol' Rasslin'. There's just more garbage wrestling and high spots than US stuff, generally. Of course, different leagues have different styles, so YMMV.
