I saw Spirited Away about a month ago and still can't get it out my head. I really am looking forward to seeing it again, however it looks like I lost my last theathre to see it in last weekend!

I read from a few online sources that Disney was going to release it on DVD 'shortly' after it's run at the box office. Has anybody heard any idea as to when this was going to be?? If it's out before Christmas, I know the first item on my Christmas list

That doesn't seem likely. Instead of the conventional movie release, where enough copies are printed for the movie to start on the same date across the continent, Spirited Away had few printings that's being passed from area to area, after each previous area finishes with it. And in another recent post, it's actually going to start appearing on Christmas day in one location, so Disney'll likely release it some time after that. (Making it available on DVD would be a disservice to the movie theatres still trying to draw people in for the big screen presentation.)

Don't know if this helps, but just today I saw a 'Spirited Away Anime Comic' at a local bookstore, from Viz, about 160 pages, number 1 of 5. The printing was all in color with sharp, vibrant tones on glossy, high-quality paper. OTOH I thought the dimensions of the paper used (a little larger than normal paperback size) made it a little hard to see details.

I saw this book at a WaldenBooks store at Castleton Square Mall on the northeast side of Indy. (Ironically, I saw this book in the store just after I saw 'Spirited Away' at the nearby AMC Castleton Arts theater.)

It looks like a nice book, but at $15 or so (?), you'd have to buy all 5 volumes to get the whole movie. It'd be cheaper just to go see the film or buy the DVD.
