Of the line-up, the ones I'm interested in seeing are Lain, Macross +, and the film version of Ghost in the Shell.

Joe Klemm who wonders if Tech TV, if the anime block is successful, will mess with everyone's minds by showing the EVA films.

Betterman DVD #5 is due 4 Feb 2003, DVD #6 is due 8 Apr. Interesting that they're announcing a TV run before the dub is completed.

Wow - I had always figured this as one of the few anime SF series that could actually work on the Sci-Fi Network.

For an SF-oriented lineup, this makes good sense.

Eh. Wonder how all the 'Tenchi' in-jokes will play here?

Oh this will be interesting - 'Lain' on nationwide TV?

Hasn't this appeared on IFC?

It may be 'tech'nically nationwide (hahaha); but will still have little exposure as far as viewership.

The dub may be completed, even if DVD authoring is not.

I don't have it. Do any Cablevision systems have Tech Tv.

Does anyone know if they'll be providing the Japanese audio on SAP and subtitles on closed captioning?

CotS is unconditionally recommended, if you haven't seen it before; Silent Moebius is pretty good also. Betterman has been extensively praised, although I've not seen it myself.

Yes, I have TechTV on Cox digital cable, but it's not on the regular channels(must have the digital package to get it, as well as Sci-Fi Channel, Speed, Action Channel, MTV2, Discovery Wings, etc.). I don't care for paying the extra for it, but now that I have it, I do watch the digital channels alot(especially since I have Encore & HBO, I got the entire 9 channel HBO package & Starz 12 channel package as part of the deal). Oh, & about Macross Plus, GitS & Patlabor, they've already been showing on the Action Channel, uncensored & uncut. They show something at least once a week, including 3X3 Eyes, Gunsmith Cats, Princess Mononoke, X The Movie, Blue Seed, Akira, Grappler Baki, Black Magic M-66, Tekken, etc.....

Not likely. Too much trouble for too few people. (Well, unless they can get a sponsor to pay for CC. Seems nowadays whenever CC is available on US TV, it's sponsored by some company.)

Laters. =)

I always thought that the sponsoring was necessary to pay for the *process* of captioning. In this case, the captions are already done.

But I still doubt it. Broadcasting in SAP is probably the killer, not the captioning. Unless TechTV has used SAP before, it is probably not set up to do so now.
