Ten episodes later

I initially had my doubts about Gundam Seed, but the lastest episode(10) has completely dispelled them. After a slow start(and some truly horrendous fansubs), the series finally seems to have kicked into high gear. The characters have developed some chemistry, and the initially sketchy background universe is much more fleshed out. I can't wait to see the next episode. Anyone else been following along?

Nothing to be excited about so far, in my opinion. I still have absolutely no clue why someone who wasn't into Gundam before would bother watching SEED. It's the same as every other Gundam show except even more overtly commercialized. Think of the most generic Gundam series possible, add some CGI, a dance-pop opening and ending song, and an ad for those multi-colored Haro toys inserted into the eyecatch and that's pretty much the show so far. The most original element to date is the ditzy idol singer and ditzy idol singers with giant robots just reminds me of that other famous mecha franchise.

I don't hate it but I'm very underwhelmed. Sunrise can do much better than this. Hope things improve.

You know...it's been 22 years, and originality is just not worth the risk for a company anymore...in other words, they can't afford to create something original and hoped that it might successed.

I've only seen one other Gundam show. Maybe that's why.
