If you don't know much about Trigun here's a hint. The first few episodes, although good and funny, are deceptive. Based on them, you have no idea where this series is going! It's going to some dark places. Not everybody is going to make it. Some characters you'll grow to love are going to suffer - a lot. And it's one of the best series I've ever seen. (I'm not limiting this opinion to just anime.)

There's a high jaw-drop rate in Trigun. After the first 2-3 shows you think you know Vash. Then, in episodes 4 and 5 you learn you were soooo wrong. But now you know Vash. Nope, later on you find you've only scraped the surface. There'll be similar surprises for the some of the other regular characters.

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin

What I've always found amusing is the disparity between what they show of Vash during the opening theme and the first few episodes. He is a very versatile character, to go along with his vocally versatile seiyuu.
