Just a quick question about the current state of the Japanese home video marketplace. Are new anime titles still being released to VHS as well as to DVD, or are most releases now DVD-only?

What about re-releases of older titles? If, for instance, one wanted to purchase all of 'Kodomo no Omocha' or 'Akazukin Cha Cha', might these titles be available on DVD but out-of-print on VHS?

cdjapan, for instance, seems to have all of 'Kodomo no Omocha' available on DVD, but only portions available on VHS.

I do remember someone in Japan told me that VHS are still quite alive especially for video rental stores. Some are released for that purpose and the price are pretty high.....
