Why havent Trigun and Rurouni Kenshin manga been released?

Why haven't Viz, Tokyopop, or Dark Horse released the Trigun or Rurouni Kenshin mangas in the US? They have had their anime versions brought over.

I would love to see these as well as the Berserk manga released here.....

Viz and the other companies don't just go to the Manga Rights Store and drop the titles they want in their shopping cart. Not every company or creator is interested in selling his or her manga in the US, or the company might be difficult to work with (Ask Toren Smith about how none of the three companies that may have the rights to Bubblegum Crisis will admit to being the one), or it just might be too long and/or expensive to put out in the US.

Or, if you're paranoid, it's because they hate you, personally, and don't want to make you happy.

If Trigun does well on CN, that could provide increased motivation to license the manga...

Berserk is out in Germany and France but not the US. Truth is it would have to rated X to be released in the USA and there's a very small martket for X rated comics so I doubt it will every happen. Esp the after vol 13 it's just one moster raping, eating and raping the left over bits oh people.

I believe VIz got it. If I remember right, they announced that they got it before Media Blasters got the anime.

Nobody has Berserk. You might be thinking of Bastard, which Viz *does* have, and is another one-word-that-begins-with-B titled anime.

I don't know about Rurouni Kenshin, but Trigun is in the process of being released. As to why it's taken this long, I believe that Nightow had some particular demands about how his manga is released here in the US, and he probably couldn't find a company right away willing to grant them.

Berserk is also on the verge of being licensed.
