I've seen on Ebay a Yugioh DVD set (episodes 1-92), one of the Hong Kong subtitle jobs. On and off I've debated getting it (because odds are we'll never see those first episodes here in the US).

Has anyone actually seen those DVDs, and is the quality of subbing any good? I once purchased a Hong Kong sub DVD of Bastard!! and the quality of the subtitling was pretty bad.

What I've heard from a friend who HAS seen them:

1. The picture quality is good.

2. The subtitles are fine, but sometimes the translations are too literal (Yugi, for example, will sometimes be called 'Game'.

3. Episode 23 I think is missing like 10 minutes of footage.

Some group is producing fansubs of Yu-Gi-Oh on DVD, I'd recommend waiting for those. Until then, the Manga would probably be better to pick up (if you can freakin FIND IT).

Yugioh Episodes -> Episode 60. The first part of the Yugi/Pandora duel. I HOPE this is a HK subbing job, as any US subbers doing that bad a job should be SHOT. x.x Everyone using their dub names in a sub project, people going around saying 'Hey, Wheeler...' which is technically how people SHOULD address him in the dub, since Jounouchi's his LAST NAME, but it just reminds me of Captain Planet. ><

Also, the buzzsaws are called gummers.
